To enable the business to stay ahead of its competitors and to offer its client base the most efficient platform for CNC Machining, the company has invested in the latest CNC technology.
Paul Wardleworth joined the company as MD in May 2008 and in conjunction with Andrew Dunn (Manufacturing Director) has instituted a drive to increase efficiency throughout the business, including a Lean Manufacturing programme.
The company have achieved approved supplier status with a number of aerospace companies but Paul explained that significant growth opportunities with other aerospace companies will only come to fruition with AS9100 accreditation in place.
Many aerospace clients insist on AS9100 as a prerequisite to supplier approval and gaining access to receive enquiries.
Precision Parts Engineering considered a number of specialist consultancies to undertake this assignment and identified Quality Systems, based in Colne, as their preferred option. They specialise in Aerospace quality systems and offer a tailored approach. The DDU has supported the company with the implementation ensuring that it met the specific needs of the business.
AS9100 accreditation will show the company’s commitment to the aerospace sector and increase the probability of gaining contracts from the industry.
